Pickling

Pickling is a surface treatment of all metals that is used to remove impurities, such as oxides, inorganic contaminants, rust or dross.

A chemical solution containing strong acids, to remove surface impurities is used.

Usually it is used to remove all unwanted surface elements before subsequent surface treatment processes.
